Gutom at Malnutrisyon, Sama-sama Nating Wakasan

Foods, specifically snacks like junk foods are commonly taken by the kids. They like to take 'merienda' more rather than taking their regular meal. they are fond of eating chocolates, candies and some other sweet foods than vegetables because for them, these foods are yummier than that of vegetables. Because of this, more Filipino kids are now suffering from malnutrition.                     Malnutrition and starvation are common problem to the Filipino families especially the kids. Not all families can take their meal three times a day. Due to this, some of them suffered from starvation. There are some families that can eat three times a day but still, some are being malnourished. It is because they don't want to take those foods that have a high-nutritive value. Some of them don't even want to eat cheap foods without realizing that these are also nutritious.
As a student, I am very much concern regarding on this matter. We should be united as one to end these starvation and malnutrition. Let us encourage everyone to utilize and give importance to the plants in our environment or surroundings that are edible like the 'kangkong',' malunggay', 'kamote' and others that can be seen around us.

Letter to the President

Brgy. Villamar
Caoayan, Ilocos Sur
July    7, 2013

President Benigno Simeon Aquino III
Republic of the Philippines
MalacaƱang Palace

Dear Mr. President,

          Warm greetings!
It was such a great honor and opportunity to write a letter directly to you. I am just a simple student of Ilocos Sur National High School. Though in the eyes of others I am not yet mature enough, I still have the right to know what's going on in our country and I have the right to express my insights regarding on the happenings in our country.
Since the day I've entered ISNHS, I was already an observer. Lack of materials of the teachers and lack of classrooms are the common problem of school until now. Materials are not enough for the teachers to teach the students the way they wanted to. It's very hard to teach without any references regarding on the topics. Lack of classrooms in a school may affect the concentration of students on their studies. I've observed that some classes would go under the trees just to have their class which is not that comfortable. I suggest sir that each class should have their own classrooms to stay in and may the teachers be provided with enough educational materials.
I hope sir that you will importance on this letter. Thank you so much. May God bless you.

Respectfully Yours,
Lijean May Ragunjan
